About The Brand

About The Brand

The story of Purple Potli is one that resonates with every girl who grew up in an Indian household—a girl who, since childhood, shyly watched her mother and grandmother cherish the exquisite weaves of India. Each day, her dadi would lovingly pull out a new saree from her treasured potli—a trunk she affectionately referred to as her potli—be it Banarasi, Kanjivaram, Paithani, or Tussar.
This girl grew up to become the founder of the brand Purple Potli. Inspired by her dadi’s potli, filled with rich traditions, and by the color purple, which symbolizes luxury, the brand embodies elegance and opulence, just like the weaves it celebrates when adorned.
Purple Potli is for every girl, for every woman, who seeks to feel luxurious while embracing the warmth of tradition and the richness of India’s cultural heritage. Each thread in our weaves is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans working in small workshops with khadi looms, dedicating hours—even days—to create a single masterpiece, just for you.
